Get ready to set your clock back an hour Sunday

As you hopefully already know Sunday is when Standard time returns, so remember to set your clock back an hour. This extra hour can be used for 1) Sleep 2) Mrs. Ferro's Homework 3)T.V. (Exciting, Right?!) So, remember to set you clocks back an hour, do your homework, and be awesome! Have a great weekend! 

Oh, the Places You'll Go!

We are making a yearbook page about "the places you'll go", and we need your help! Please send us your pictures of places that you went over spring break. The deadline is Friday, April 5th, so don't procrastinate!  We will include the best ones in the yearbook. Staff, feel free to submit your pictures as well!

Kiss the Pig!

Syringa is raising money for new technology. We are having a kiss the pig contest. To raise this money, students will have the chance to put money in the teacher's jar of their choice. The three teachers with the most money in their jars will get to kiss the pig! Nine teachers have been elected to kiss a pig. Your choices are: Mr. Swan, Mrs. Peebles, Officer Hodnet, Mr. Sollers, Mrs. Ferro, Mrs. Morford, Mrs. Bassham, Ms. Nagashima, and Mrs. Noe. Bring your money to support your school and have your favorite teacher kiss the pig!

Orchestra

On October 18^th, Syringa’s six, seventh, and eighth grade orchestra made a fantastic appearance at CHS. The sixth graders played a fancy fiddle piece that had a little twist at the end. The seventh graders played a different version of “London Bridges Don’t Fall Down” as “Viola Bridges Don’t Fall Down”. The big finally was the eighth graders joining forces with Jefferson’s eighth graders playing Mountain King. Everyone did a wonderful and the parent’s seemed to enjoy the concert. Syringa’s next orchestra concert will be December 17^th, 2012.

Band Concert

On Monday, Syringa and Jefferson had a joint band concert. They did really well and it was great for parents and students alike to see the progression of skill from 6th grade band to the CHS Varsity Band. Great Job Panthers!

P/T Confrences

Remember, this week, we won't have school on Thursday and Friday, due to Parent Teacher Conferences. We will have conferences on Thursday 1:30 to 6:30 pm, and on Friday we will have conferences from 7:30 to 9:30 am. Come to conferences with your parental guardian and yourself. See you there

PAWS

This week we will not be having PAWS. Instead, we will be going to our advisory (4th period classes) and learning about bullying.

Book Fair!

Come to Syringa's Book Fair! We would love to have you come check out our spooky selection for this year! Come in at lunch with your money, during class, or during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. See you there!

Orchestra Concert

Syringa's first orchestra concert was on Thursday and it was a blast! The music was great! Thanks for supporting our music program! Here are some of the highlights from the concert:

S - School is My Job!

Congratulations to those of you who recieved the S - School is My Job! award. Great job! Next week will be C - Come Prepared! so come to school with your binder, ID card, and supplies daily to get this award. Here is a picture of those who received the award.

Science Ninjas

Mrs. Ferro's Science Ninjas are working on a big project and need your help! Bring recyclable building materials (cans, cardboard, metal scraps, bottles, aluminum, gum wrappers, license plates, etc.) to Mrs. Ferro's room to help out our ninjas in need.

Harvest Dance

     Don't forget to purchase your fall dance tickets during lunch this week. Your student council will be on the stage at lunch Monday- Thursday, and you can also purchase tickets at the door. You must have no library fines to buy tickets. With an ASB it is two dollars, and without it's three dollars. The dance will be on Thursday from 3:00- 4:30. Make sure you have a ride home. You do not have to wear dress code, however it must be appropriate.

Orchestra

Syringa Middle School's Orchestra will be playing on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at seven o'clock. Don't forget to come and support our string instruments!

Fall Choir Concert 2012

This Week...

Monday- Our lady panthers played their last game on Monday against East Valley! All seventh and eighth grade teams suffered a loss.

Thursday- Cross Country travels to Mountain Home for their last meet! You've got this ladies and gents!
